Well. This could be the moment many Xbox fans have been waiting for. An announcement that Xbox Keyboard and Mouse support will finally be coming to Microsoft consoles everywhere, after a recent Windows 10 update on the console. The news has been broken on the Microsoft Poland website, of all places. It looks like someone hit that “publish” button a little too early. Pushing the article through google translate, we get this rather pertinent statement:

Some players prefer to conquer the virtual world with a pad in hand. Others, above all, value the precision of the mouse movements. Others, however, can not imagine playing on anything other than a keyboard. Now, owners of Xbox One consoles (including Xbox One S models and the latest Xbox One X) can choose these accessories and decide for themselves what they will use. “PC Master Race”? Thanks to the keyboard support, we can already successfully talk about “Xbox Master Race”!”

With these everyday PC peripherals, you will be able to browse the Internet, interact with social networking sites, and use Office applications via your console. Neat! As well as Xbox Keyboard and Mouse support, the press release also tells us that gamers will also be able to plug in webcams and use them for capturing real life footage, and streaming it through the ‘Mixer’ app in Full HD.

So what do you think of this news? Does it seems like Microsoft Poland has let the cat out of the bag? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. PS3 supported keyboard and mouse and 3rd party webcams since November 2006. But errr, yeah, well done Xbox and its fans.

And Microsoft POLAND using the Nazi phrase of “Master Race”? Freaking HILARIOUS.

    • Supports it in almost no games. Be honest when you want to talk shit about a ‘console war’ you pretend exists. Child.

    • True but Sony has made made no use out of it while MS has stated in the Past that we could see a lot od PC games making their way over to Xbox. Who owns Windows? MICROSOFT. Get ready for the Xbox master race it’s coming!

    • Yes, but this is a comprehensive use of K/M not a specific use like PS3. But it makes sense since it’s on a Windows platform anyways.

      • The XIM4 is a wonderful product, but official support will be far better than the emulated mouse restrained to the controller. Good job Micro, I hope this happens soon. This was promised at launch and I’ve been waiting this whole time. Very excited to see it.

  2. I’m getting the best controls on my Xbox while my PS4 can’t have a half working UI? Microsoft is killing it lately. Chances are I’ll be playing a lot more Xbox instead of Netflix if this works for all games, apps and UI.

  3. Update: A representative of Microsoft replied to Glixel, saying,
“No new announcements have been made regarding keyboard and mouse
support on Xbox One. The post you referenced has been pulled down as it
    was created using incorrect information.”

  4. How about Age of Empires IV on XBox also… with just one multiplayer pool for XBox and PC gamers? Makes a ton of sense to me, and it should to Microsoft.
